Get your summer exam results online (13/04/2007)
I like the idea of being able to get your results wherever you are
Shelley Hemmings, GCSE studentIn August 2007, all Edexcel A level and GCSE students will be given the opportunity to access their results online on the morning of results day.
You will be able to log on to your results from any internet access point, wherever you are in the world.
In partnership with schools and colleges, Edexcel will be sending out details for the 1.2 million or so students taking its GCSE and A level examinations this summer.
Your schools and colleges will pass on the details to you so that you can complete the registration process yourself.
In addition to grades and unit scores, you will also be able to view the Edexcel Gradeometer; this will show you how close you were to the nearest grade boundary.
You can read more about the summer 2006 pilot project, where almost 2000 students were able to log in and view their results, here.
Getting started is easy, but you need your registration PIN first. This will be sent to your school or college who will decide how and when they choose to send the details to students, so you should talk to them. Your PIN is contained on a securely sealed slip. It also gives you the address of the registration website. If you lose your PIN, you will need to speak to your school or college to get another one sent. Unfortunately, Edexcel cannot take requests for new PINs directly from students.
Your results will become available online at the official date and time of normal paper release. Remember, you’ll only be able to see your Edexcel results online. If you do subjects with other examination boards, you’ll still need to pick these up from your school or college at the time they’ve arranged with you.
